REVIEWS

CREEPY #6, Commedia dell’Morte

The second tale, Commedia dell’Morte by Christopher A. Taylor and Jason Shawn Alexander, is a tale that actually has the ability to haunt you. This short is about a party clown who also does what he believes is God’s will. The deadpan panel approach and the unreliable narrator make this tale more than what is on paper. There’s a stark cinematic style to Alexander’s scenes and an unnerving quality to the action. You’ll want to shake this one off as quickly as you read it because it will give you nightmares.”

Commedia Del Morte [sic]was a real tour de force. After reading Commedia Del Morte [sic], you’ll see clowns as both scarier and more heroic than you ever did before.”

EERIE #1, Beta-Eden

Beta-Eden by Christopher A. Taylor and Rafa Garres is the strongest tale included in this debut issue.”

More like Beta-Eden, please, and less like the other three.”

CLIVE BARKER’S HELLRAISER: BESTIARY #2, OLD HAT TO RAISE THE DEVIL

Old Hat To Raise The Devil delivers a gritty and twisted take on the Robert Johnson legend.”

– Bloody Disgusting

As a short piece, it manages both to hold onto the spirit of the original Hellraiser while couching it in such a potentially sensitive context in such a way as to be both respectful and incredibly brutal. Great work.”

– Destroy The Brain

Old Hat to Raise the Devil takes up half of the second issue and is easily the high point of the entire series. A fantastic, grim story, brilliantly told […] A little work of genius.”

UNPUBLISHED SAMPLES

This Joker script came from an almost greenlit pitch to DC Comics way back around 2013. They were hesitant to move forward due to how prevalent Joker was at the time. So off it went to the Maybe Someday file, likely to never see the light of day, and I moved on to other things.

Then came Covid, and, like so many, I was stuck at home. I sifted through old projects to revive and this one grabbed me by the throat and refused to let go until I sat down and scripted it from the 12 page outline. Not because I entertained any idea about taking it to DC again, but simply to shut up the incessant “write me” whispers buzzing in my head.

This script is my most recent finished work. While my published samples are strong, this one has more maturity and confidence. It also serves to highlight my ability to work with a proprietary IP. Click the link below to read the script.
